The protagonist, Kira Keisuke, is on the verge of failing the year. He’s managed to score failing grades in every subject—a grand slam of academic failure. To avoid repeating the year, his teachers propose a deal: convince his childhood friend, Igarashi Rin, to run for student council president and compete in the National Student Council Competition. Everyone—from the school staff to the students—believes Rin has what it takes to dominate the intense competition. But her response is a resounding, "Absolutely not!!"
